Summer Cleaning

I just did a very thorough friends list sorting. For quite some time, keeping up with my friends page has become lower and lower on my priority list, and now with most of my Internet access comprised of a dial-up connection, it's become even more insignificant on my list of things to do when I'm connected. I feel bad about skimming and skipping all of the time, so I had to reduce the number of entries I'm seeing on it.

For that reason and the fact that I want to limit my friends list to as few people as possible for closeness reasons, I've removed a lot of people. It's nothing personal against any of you--none of you have done anything to become untrustworthy or uninteresting, I just feel that we've grown apart or that we were never all that close on a personal level to begin with.

I hope none of those I've removed are offended, and feel free to stop by now and again to let me know how you're doing--I'm certainly not opposed to little, "Hi, how are you?"s, but I just don't have the time or resources to keep up with a lot of different people's lives anymore.

It’s completely understandable and not at all surprising. We have drifted apart quite a bit, unfortunately.

Yeah, unfortunately is definitely a good word to use.

I'm thankful for my excellent memory, though. You can be sure I won't forget the impression you've left on me, and please do stop in to give me little "Hello, I'm doing well, how are you?"s every now and then--here or on IM. :) :)

Of course! :) You're quite an interesting person, intelligent, pleasant, and fun. And being so completely different from me in many ways, it was always enlightening to speak with you, too. :)

It seems you've had a lot going on lately yourself, so I'm sure you can understand my need to streamline things in one way or another. Please don't have taken it personally. :]

Oh, it's been fantastic here. I can say that this is the first job where I've really felt like I'm meant to be there. And I don't think I can beat the commute at all. ;D The summer's just starting to pick up now that we're finally getting some nice weather, and I'm really looking forward to the village events for the Fourth. :)

One of these days when I give up my delusion of keeping up, I'm going to do a clean out as well.

Oh, I'd definitely like to meet up with you, still! Where in NY are you now? Back in West Nyack or elsewhere?

Thought of you today...
Was in Setauket. Last minute and not in a people mood with all that's been going on but we'd planned to walk around Port Jeff and/or Stony Brook before the skies opened. Thought of you and wondered if I'd wander into the bakery by accident because I couldn't remember where it was.

Next time when I know more than 1/2 hour in advance that I'm going I'll e-mail you. I think I'll be out there more this summer. Hopefully. Friends of the family had their three grandchildren over and kids can be a good distraction.

My bakery isn't hard to find--if you go down by the ferry, it's near the corner of 25A/Broadway between the bank and Village Hall. :] Big white building with a red sign out front. If you're in the area again, do just stop on in! I'm there almost every day, usually working the morning shift and done around 3pm. And if you don't see me at work, just give me a call on my cell--let me know if you don't still have it and I'll e-mail you--since I live just across the boat dock parking lot from the bakery. ;]

And right now I have very intermittent Internet access--this is the first time I've been online in two weeks! So calling me is a much better bet than e-mail.

I hope all is well with you, too. And I hope the non-people-seeing-mood wasn't due to anything lasting and/or serious. *BIG HUGS back* :)
